Join transportation engineers, designers, and planners from across the country to learn about recent updates to the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Crash Modification Factors (CMF) Clearinghouse. Recent efforts to update CMFs for High-Friction Surface Treatment (HFST) and High-Tension Cable Median Barriers (HTCMB) in Pennsylvania and developing CMFs for Continuous Flow Intersections (CFIs) will be highlighted.

Presenters

  • Sarah Weissman Pascual, Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), and Taha Saleem, with the University of North Carolina Highway Safety Research Center (HSRC), will provide an overview of the CMF Clearinghouse and the resources available for your assistance.
  • Vikash Gayah, Pennsylvania State University (PennState), will present on recent efforts to update CMFs for High-Friction Surface Treatment (HFST) and High-Tension Cable Median Barriers (HTCMB) in Pennsylvania.
  • Chris Cunningham, North Carolina State University Institute for Transportation Research and Education, will present on a recent effort to develop CMFs for Continuous Flow Intersections (CFIs).
  • Raghavan Srinivasan, University of North Carolina Highway Safety Research Center (HSRC), will present an overview of the various current and recently completed CMF-related National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP) projects.
